Kouate / Schick / Biłat / Kneer // PANDAjazz

This new group goes back to a two-day recording session with two different trios organized by Dudu Kouate and Ignaz Schick in 2024, one with cellist Julia Bilat and the other with bassist Meinrad Kneer. Now it was decided to merge the two trios into a quartet. The resulting music is a fusion of improvised music, jazz, chamber music strings and African elements. The infectious grooves of Kouate's playful African percussion meet the abstract chamber music sections of the strings, combined with the inventive swinging melodies of Schick's saxophones.
