Kunst & Klima: Museen – unendliches Wachstum?

In the organizer's words:

What is it all about?

The consequences of climate change are becoming increasingly apparent in this country. For museums, too, the question of what part they can play in the cultural change that leads to a sustainable restructuring of the economy and society is becoming increasingly important. The lecture will examine this question with regard to the collection practices of museums. At present, the majority of German museums are fulfilling their collection mandates by constantly growing their holdings. Continuous growth generally leads to a steady increase in the consumption of resources. What collection strategies could decouple the dynamics from quantitative growth? And how does this shake up the self-image of museums?

Who is our guest?
