Nine-year-old Cole is plagued by anxiety and ostracized at school. The well-known child psychologist Dr. Malcolm Crowe tries to help him. Once the frightened boy has gained enough trust in Crowe, he confides his terrible secret to him: Cole sees dead people! The child psychologist initially thinks this is delusional, but he soon realizes the disturbing reality of the ghostly visions...

M. Night Shyamalan established himself as the heir to suspense master Alfred Hitchcock with "The Sixth Sense" and has been serving up the astonishing twists that have become his trademark ever since. The six-time Oscar-nominated mystery thriller from 1999 became one of the genre's biggest cult successes. Hollywood stars Bruce Willis and Toni Collette star alongside newcomer Haley Joel Osment.
