lautLOS_absence#5-deconstruction of memory

In the organizer's words:

"Not knowing what happened before you were born means always remaining a child."- Cicero

In the beginning there is silence. What has happened loses its clarity, is reinterpreted and becomes a new reality. The disappearance of memory is linked to questions of identity and origin. What is the significance of the heritage that we carry within us from previous generations - historical, human, genetic, psychological, cultural?

As the focus of the project, the artists Kavitha Krishnan (Singapore), Ildikó Mándy (HU) and Ilona Pászthy (D) will each create a solo on this complex of themes, each with a focus inspired by their personal family history. Each artist has her own question. And each artist invites a young dance artist from her country to create another solo on the same theme from her perspective. The starting point for all three artists' exploration of memory and its significance for the "now" and the future are aspects of the loss of important people and points of connection, which shift the approach to memory to a different level of importance at different stages of their lives and thus raise new questions. Cultural imprinting and the search for expression for the "silent aspects" contained therein are intertwined with socio-political themes and personal insights. In the scenography of the visual artist miegL and the animation artist Anna Mahendra, aspects of external influences on current events are taken up and made tangible.
