We invite you to our reading "A book for the city 2024" on November 15th at 7 pm in our Goldjunge in Sülz. Winfried Bode and Petra Christine Schiefer will read from Dschinns, Winfried will support the atmosphere with sounds. The Goldjunge team will provide you with drinks and conjure up a delicious dinner.

About the book:

"What is a djinn? Is it something like a ghost?"

" Yes. Or no. Not quite. The Koran says that jinn live on earth, just like humans. But we just can't see them."

The parents Hüseyin and Emine, who go to Germany because they see no future in their Kurdish village, never really feel at home there. Their four children navigate the tension between the cultures in different ways, each searching for their own path in the face of the silence that hides a family secret.

In their reading, Winfried Bode and Petra Christine Schiefer bring to life the six characters in the novel, each of whom has to contend with their own djinns.
