»Let’s Play: MusicTheatre« Sarah Fartuun Heinze

In the organizer's words:

An event of the Black Story MonthBremen

Information about the play

Sarah Fartuun Heinze has brought the (participative and performative) music-theatrical game principle Let's Play: MusicTheatre with her - and turns it into shared (game) material. It is a game whose rules we invent together while we play it. A music theater game performance to participate in. A story that we tell ourselves while we experience it together. Music that we create while we enjoy it. The most important thing is that everyone is doing well. Everything else comes from that. Sarah Fartuun Heinze invites us to move forward together, questioning and aesthetically exploring, or: to stroll, try out, play. No programming skills or other prior knowledge are required. If you like to play - digitally, analog, theatrically - you've come to the right place.

"Let's Play: MusicTheatre" celebrated its premiere test play at zeitraumexit Mannheim and was performed at Fusion, the "Theater der Dinge" festival at Schaubude Berlin and the "Spurensuche" festival at HochX Munich. A combination of workshop, tutorial and playtest from "Let's Play: MusicTheatre" was developed for the "Queer B-Cademy: EMOTIONAL SPACE AGE" festival at Kampnagel.

Information about the artists

Sarah Fartuun Heinze is a theater maker, aesthetic researcher, performer, game designer, musician, author, dramaturge and cultural educator, as well as part of the Creative Gaming Initiative and the New German Media Makers. Digital and analog games have always moved Sarah Fartuun Heinze, Black(-gender-)Queer*Feminist - and still do. A favorite game: "Zelda: Ocarina of Time", probably because the key to most of the puzzles is the music - as so often, even far away from screens and (theater) stages. Recent works: "Play II Pause", a participatory classroom piece together with Hannes Kapsch (DT Berlin) and others, "Botanical Audioscapes - A Plantbased MusicTheatreGame," a hybrid plantbased playtest together with N. B. Spiders (Schauspiel Dortmund).
