The Schwankhalle is a performance and production venue for the independent performing arts in Bremen's Neustadt district. Current positions from performance, theater, dance, music theater and related artistic forms take the stage here. Concerts, discourse events and other forms of assembly are also part of the program - from boat ballet on Lake Werdersee to the neighborhood choir. The Schwankhalle is also constantly moving to other locations and developing formats for different spaces in the city.
Another focus is on the development of performances and plays with and for children and young people. Cross-generational performance formats and family-friendly offerings are part of the repertoire. The Schwankhalle stands for play, for encounters and last but not least: For fun and surprises!
