France-based prog-rock power trio LIZZARD are out to recapture the creative, collaborative energy that has driven them for over a decade. On their fifth studio album "Mesh", LIZZARD captures the energetic, irresistible optimism of the late 90s post-punk/art-rock scene and reinvigorates it as something empowering, inspiring and bubbling with potential.

"Mesh" is one of LIZZARD's most introspective works to date; it asks questions about who and what we really are, behind the veil, beneath the web of appearances we all use to protect, but more often hide, our emotions and desires.

Recorded by the band in the abandoned factory they use as a creative base, and once again produced by longtime friend and collaborator Peter Junge (Avatar, The Melvins...), "Mesh" unleashes the raw, spontaneous power of their pent-up live sound through the precise production experience of the studio. Themes of duality and control, whether to reclaim it or let it go, run throughout the album.

With Elwell's distinctive, thunderous drums and an onslaught of colossal riffs, "Black Sheep" explores the dichotomy of body and mind, black and white, that we grapple with on a daily basis, while the gentle polyrhythms and plaintive melodies of "Mad Hatters" pose pressing questions to those who supposedly run society.

The epic album closer "The Beholder" shows LIZZARD at their revitalized best; bittersweet guitar riffs are underpinned by Will Knox's signature driving bass lines and crashing halftime grooves, while frontman Ricou contemplates the grand cycle of life from his own perspective. A testament to the band's impressive compositional skills, "The Beholder" ends as it begins - as a full circle. With only Ricou's playful, apt refrain "What goes around, comes around" ringing in our ears, LIZZARD masterfully frame "Mesh" as both a meaningful conclusion to the final chapter and a radiant new beginning.
