2023 Rhineland. Opencast lignite mining. Energy transition. Young entrepreneur Marcel Lange, hungry for success, wants to create a monument to himself and his family with a new high-end village. Full of zest for action, he convinces his mentor and superior Hartmut to build the first villa in "Neu-Plünderich am See". But in order to fully convince the energy company and employer ÖZEV, the old village must be completely empty and his sister Franca stands in his way. Can the siblings reach an agreement without driving their overburdened mother Angelika mad?
