MALTE UCHTMANN: ANGEKOMMEN - VERNISSAGE MIT LIVE MUSIK VON LIV ALMA

OPENING WITH LIVE MUSIC BY LIV ALMA ~20:00

"ANKOMMEN" deals with the architectural infrastructure provided by the state for the accommodation of refugees in Germany. The work creates an examination of the effect that the prevailing construction methods and urban planning measures in this area can have on refugees and locals, as well as the social and political structures embedded in them.

Malte Uchtmann (*1996 in Hamburg) works as a photographer and media artist in Leipzig.Using various visual media, he is interested in researching the construction of reality through documentary image strategies. He investigates how systems of knowledge, order and representation shape our perception and behavior.

His work has been shown at the Kommunale Galerie Berlin, the f2 Fotofestival Dortmund and the Biennale de l'Image Tangible Paris, among others, and has been published in ZEIT and ZEITmagazin. He was awarded the German Photo Book Prize in 2020 for his book "ANKOMMEN". He was shortlisted for the C/O Berlin Talent Award 2023 and has been part of Futures Photography since 2024.

LIV ALMA is the electronic pop project of Cologne and Berlin-based musician Johanna Klein. The first album was released digitally and on vinyl under the Papercup Records label in early 2023. With the refreshingly new sound of delicate vocals, rough beats and loop-like layers of sound, she was finally nominated for the German Record Critics' Award 2023.
