Mara Hebel & Schwankcore: Über das Wasser

In the organizer's words:

Mara Hebel's composition for choir and live electronics creates a surreal underwater soundscape. Sound recordings of various Bremen locations above and below water and the voices of Bremen's water birds lead to the sounds of the choir. The piece sets the city acoustically under water and thematizes flooding, sinking, but also the tranquillity of submersion, becoming aware of and holding together a human community.

"Über das Wasser" is part of the series "Songs of Rising and Sinking", in which changing composers develop compositions especially for Schwankcoreabout the ecological, social and emotional consequences of the increasing threat posed by the climate crisis.

Information on accessibility

All event rooms in the Schwankhalle are accessible at ground level and without steps. The concert takes place in the foyer. There is standing and seating.
