A double concert with the potential to have a lasting effect: this is how cleverly, consistently and unleashedly club music can be developed and turned into pop music.

From the spirit of techno, French-Canadian musician Marie Davidson has created a groundbreaking work that ranges from chanson to Italo disco to ice-cold four-to-the-floor bangers, with her hauntingly minimalist spoken vocals at the center. The label list of Davidson's releases under her own name, in a duo as Essaie Pas or most recently in the trio L'Œil Nu reads like a who's who of advanced pop culture (including Constellation, DFA, Ninja Tune). After appearances at major festivals and in clubs with long queues, this artist, who has made her mark on the international music world, is coming to the summer festival for an evening that is guaranteed to have a big impact. Before that, Hamburg's Konstantin Unwohl celebrates the premiere of his second album "Neuer Wall" (Tapete Records). He has been working on it for four years and it would have to be the devil's work if this mixture of minimalist darkwave and contemporary synth-pop didn't become the next big thing. With light-footed melodies and pressing beats from Unwohl's collection of synthesizers, drum machines and samplers, he creates a dark, shimmering world in which Marie Davidson will also feel at home.
