Mehmet Atli // Konzert

Mehmet Atli, an outstanding representative of modern Kurdish music, will soon be performing at the Kulturbunker in Cologne. His career began in 1994 as the singer and guitarist of the Kurdish protest band Koma Dengê Azadi. He has been active as a solo artist since 2000 and has released seven albums to date. In addition to his musical career, Atli is also known as an architect, academic and author.

His repertoire includes songs in the Kurdish dialects Kurmancî and Dimilî as well as in Turkish, combining traditional folk songs with his own compositions. Atli sees music as an important tool for human rights and freedom of expression. In his 30-year career, he has performed at festivals and concerts worldwide - and soon also at the Kulturbunker in Cologne. He will be performing live here as part of his current European tour.
