Video game designer Micha plans to build a luxury hotel in his home village.

It's a hot, dry summer in Klein-Schappleben. Self-made entrepreneur Micha (Charly Hübner) returns from Berlin to the small village of his childhood in Saxony-Anhalt. The game designer has an idea in his luggage, and even more: a vision! Because Micha is thinking big: he wants to turn his parents' dilapidated former hotel into a luxury hotel with a wellness oasis for stressed-out city dwellers. The divided village community is skeptical about Micha's ideas regarding their involvement in this daring project: only Micha's school friend Tina (Jördis Triebel) and his partner Jenny (Natalia Ruzewiecz) agree to pursue Micha's ambitious plans.

The persistent heat, the drying up of the groundwater and the conspiracy theories spread with relish by retired teacher Bernd Schlüter (Jan Georg Schütte) do their bit. In the end, the whole village is left high and dry - and its inhabitants have to learn that the future of Klein-Schappleben can only be shaped together.

After "Für immer Sommer 90", MICHA DENKT GROSS is the latest project from the successful writing and directing team of Lars Jessen (FRAKTUS, MITTAGSSTUNDE), Jan Georg Schütte and Charly Hübner. In their delightfully bizarre improv comedy, the three filmmakers and actors combine humor with serious themes.
