MICHELLE DAVID & THE TRUE-TONES

Growing up in New York, Michelle David began singing at the age of four and joined her first group, The Mission of Love, at the age of five. During her career, she toured worldwide with the Broadway musical "Mama", contributed to successful theater productions such as "The Sound of Motown", "Glory of Gospel" and "Mahalia" and recorded for artists such as Diana Ross and Michael Bolton. All this was before she released six critically acclaimed, gospel-infused albums with the True-tones.

Michelle David & The True-tones know how to bring a luminous evening of classic soul music to the stage. With their infectious rhythms, powerful voices and strong melodies, they have already conquered many festivals and numerous clubs. After playing renowned Dutch festivals such as Pinkpop and North Sea Jazz, the band toured from Spain to Scandinavia, leaving unforgettable impressions and offering an unforgettable live experience wherever they played. In addition, the band's discography has been praised; they received an Edison nomination (the Dutch Grammy), while their previous album "Truth & Soul" was named album of the month on FIP radio in France and album of the year on Craig Charles' show on BBC Radio 6 Music. The band has made numerous radio and TV appearances and was even invited to play their music on the biggest national TV show during the 2022 Winter Olympics.

Michelle David (vocals), Paul Willemsen (guitar, bass), Onno Smit (guitar, bass) and Bas Bouma (drums) form a cohesive unit that seamlessly blends their individual talents and contributes to the distinctive sound that characterizes Michelle David & the True-tones. The band's instrumentation, characterized by groovy bass lines, and Michelle David's powerful voice become a vibrant tapestry of sound.
