Music connects - now also Dortmund and Oklahoma City: the two cities are now cooperating to promote local musicians.

Cooperation across continents: There is now a transatlantic music bridge between Dortmund and Oklahoma City. The US Academy Of Contemporary Music at the University of Central Oklahoma and the city of Dortmund have developed the concept of a so-called "Music Embassy" under the name "Transatlantic Music Bridge". It enables young acts from Germany and the USA to perform and record music in the other country, gain market knowledge and network.

The first German band has already made its way to the USA. For the pilot project, the Academy Of Contemporary Music selected the Dortmund band Walking On Rivers, which flew to Oklahoma City in mid-August. The band lived in Oklahoma for several weeks and was able to make recordings for a new album in the Academy's studios. To this end, passages for string instruments were written, produced and recorded with local musicians.

We want to talk to those responsible and the band about the program, the trip, the production and experiences - and above all about the next tender phase. How can a Dortmund band take part? How does the selection process work? And what happens in the USA?

We will discuss these and other questions with experts and the audience on this evening.
