In the organizer's words:

The beautiful weather and peaceful atmosphere are deceptive. Every town and village can be attacked from the air or from the shore at any time. People adapt to the new circumstances and continue to live their daily lives, which are characterized by fear and insecurity. The war is omnipresent and manifests itself in recurring power cuts, air raid sirens and the constant search for shelter. Life in Ukraine is marked by physical and mental trauma, which is rarely adequately portrayed in the media.

"How are you?" For many Ukrainians, a common answer is: "Okay" or the understated expression "normal", in Ukrainian: "нормально" [normal'no]. In the meantime, the word has taken on a new meaning and tends to mean that nothing is normal anymore.

The installation is an interweaving of audiovisual elements from Kyiv, field recordings, personal reflections and global media.

An AI model acts as a catalyst and goes in search of a meta-sound that lies between audio waves and the daily soundscape of the city, reflecting the complexity of the new everyday life during the ongoing war in Ukraine.
