From B.O.. T-hater Heidelberg

The gap between rich and poor is widening and is putting society to the test. It increases discrimination at all levels, undermines democracy and exacerbates the global climate crisis.

The number of people that our current emergency helpers - social workers, debt counselors, youth welfare workers, etc. - have to look after is increasing at an alarming rate. In order to make the complex structures between the so-called clients and their helpers visible, the [B.O.] Theater team conducted many interviews with the people involved. With helpers and also with people who receive help. This resulted in thematic and scenic material. The results are fragmentary and yet lead to surprising insights and ideas. With protest, shock and provocation, but also with imagination, lightness, music and humor, "Nothelfer in Not" reflects an explosive situation that seems hopeless.

The HEIDELBERGER THEATERTAGE 2024 is organized by the Freie Theaterverein Heidelberg e.V. in cooperation with the Karlstorbahnhof e.V., the festival is funded by the City of Heidelberg via the Cultural Office and by the Ministry of Science, Research and the Arts Baden-Württemberg via the Landesverband Amateurtheater Baden-Württemberg e.V.
