Headlining the evening, we're pleased to welcome on stage Wooly Aziz, solo, progressive soul project by Jannat Sohail from Lahore, Pakistan, also listed in the Alternative Power 100 Music List (2020) for Resilience and Adaptability. Best described as soulful and transcending borders with their atmospheric compositions and lyrical storytelling, Wooly Aziz is composing stories of love, war, and migration.
To close the night, Ubax's bass heavy, hard-pushing sounds will focus on getting our audience dancing. Born and raised in London, Ubax grew up surrounded by the sounds of Jungle, Drum and Bass, UK garage, Grime and Somali music. But it wasn’t until she moved to Berlin that a mixture of nostalgia and longing to hear more bass music motivated her to get behind the decks. Ubax is inspired by the sounds of SWANA, South Africa, Latin America and of course the UK. These diverse sonic influences manifest in her sets, building a bridge between old skool tunes and new sounds.
