ONE OF THE BEST BLUES-ROCK BANDS IN EUROPE
Rhythm & blues in its purest form, uncompromising and honest in a perfect performance, far removed from the distant nature of a studio recording. This is what the Pee Wee Bluesgang offer their audience in their friendly and open manner. Their contact with the fans is almost friendly and you realize every time anew: with the Pee Wee's, the blues comes from the heart.
Richard Hagel, who celebrated his 50th anniversary on stage in 2013, always emphasizes: "Music keeps you young" and is the best proof of this himself. The charismatic singer and frontman has lost none of his fantastic voice and stage presence.
Thomas Hesse, an outstanding guitarist, also proves that music influences the way of life; he lives and loves music. Both are open to new things, but also stand for the continuity of the original style of blues and rock music.
Thomas Hesse and Richard Hagel are the original Pee Wee's. For years they have been accompanied by their drummer Martin Siehoff. The youngest band member since 2010 is the legendary bassist Andreas Müller.
In its long history, the Pee Wee Bluesgang has played thousands of gigs at home and abroad. The band has not only thrilled 80,000 fans in Russia, but has also demonstrated its musical range at blues festivals and at concerts with the South Westphalia Philharmonic Orchestra. The legendary appearance on Rockpalast in 1982 should also be mentioned here. The Pee Wee's always cast a spell over people.
Today, the Pee Wee Bluesgang, which was formed in 1977 as a bluesy cover band, is one of the oldest blues bands in Germany. In the 70s, Thomas Hesse & Co. learned from greats such as B.B. King, Hendrix, Clapton, Beck and Muddy Waters. Since then, 19 albums (CDs) with mainly original compositions show the sound and the unique repertoire of the Pee Wee's.
GIVE ME YOUR SOUL AND I GIVE YOU MY BLUES
PEE WEE BLUESGANG GERMANY'S LONGEST LASTING AND MOST SUCCESSFUL BLUES BAND
"Tonight I want the blues. A six-pack of beer and the blues." What could be better than one of the best rhythm & blues bands in Europe? What better than the Pee Wee Bluesgang?
Uncompromising, honest and direct - straight into the blood. "Feel the blues". The best musical live power since 1977. Music from the heart of absolute thoroughbred musicians. They live and love exactly what they celebrate on stage - the blues.
But this is not only done live, but also on 19 CDs. With a sound consisting mainly of their own compositions and the typical Pee Wee songs, the spark is ignited even in the living room at home.
However, the band's strength lies without doubt in the Pee Wee Bluesgang live concerts. Richard Hagel is a frontman on stage who inevitably captivates the audience. You can feel what the music means to him. Charismatic and expressive are his trademarks. Add to that the fantastic guitar of one of the best blues guitarists in Europe - Thomas Hesse. He simply knows what he is doing. Every note is alive, every note is a hit, every note is an experience.
Martin Siehoff sets the pace, sets the groove, which is perfectly supported and rounded off by the low notes of Andreas Müller on bass. A perfectly coordinated team. A band in a class of its own.
Thousands of gigs speak for themselves. Gigs at home and abroad. Concerts in front of 80,000 Russian fans. At home in large and small halls, at festivals, in clubs and even with the South Westphalia Philharmonic Orchestra. The legendary appearance on Rockpalast in 1982 will never be forgotten, including being announced by Rockpalast cult presenter Alan Bangs. The Pee Wee's experienced it. "German Television proudly presents: Dear friends, our guest on Rockpalast today: The Pee Wee Bluesgang!" That's as good as it gets.
"Tonight I want the blues. Tonight I want the Pee Wee Bluesgang!"
