In the Republic of Moldova too, the triumph of capitalism and technological progress have changed everything since independence in 1991. A future as a community project and the prospect of a good life for all have become a distant prospect. The ego is exploited, alienated, stressed and must be tirelessly productive in order to survive. In the second part of their trilogy Symphony of Progress, Nicoleta Esinencu and the collective teatru-spălătorie reclaim the right to imagine an alternative to capitalism. In a rousing multi-sound of sounds and interviews, they create a beat on stage that becomes the nightmare of capitalism.
