Révélations [Offenbarungen] - Choreografisches Konzert für Lautsprecher, Cello und Tanz zu Werken von György Ligeti

In Révélations [Revelations], Marie-Louise Wundling (cello), Hanne Pilgrim (choreography and dance) and William Edouard Franck (sound and loudspeaker installation) create an audio-corporal space. This spans an arc between Ligeti's Sonata for Violoncello Solo (1948) and his electronic compositions Glissandi (1957) and Artikulation for Tape (1958), which were created in the Cologne Studios for Electronic Music. Ligeti's works are embedded in various spatial configurations. They resound in a dynamic, mobile arrangement between the cellist, the dancer, who interprets Ligeti's music with her body, the voices of both protagonists, the loudspeakers and the audience. The space between the performers and the loudspeakers is created by gestures of dialog. Dialogue, understood in Révélations as "being between the words", is also addressed by Ligeti in the performance title of the first movement of the cello sonata. The dance/movement as animated sculpture mirrors the music in space, giving it a kinetic energy and a physical presence: swings, turns, spatial paths, hand gestures, breathing patterns, articulations, frictions, consonances, silence.

The loudspeakers as sound-producing bodies, which we call Objets Sonors Vivants, occupy the space in their own way. They enter into connection with the performers, interact with their kinespheres and those of the audience.
