Romeo und Julia

Behold two houses here of equal standing,
where old hatred sets fire to new rage,
where civil war is the greatest civil happiness.
Two pairs of parents, enemies full of rage,
give birth to daughter and son,
but childhood love dies in children's blood,
which spoils their parents' war.

There is war. Two houses, two families, enemies to the core. In the midst of the conflict, the children, Romeo and Juliet. A love without a future. But this youth refuses to die, refuses to sacrifice themselves - neither for old hatred, young love nor for their home.

The ensemble, aged between 14 and 62, distrusts reconciliation over the graves of the dead children and, despite everything, believes in the revolutionary power of love as the greatest resource, as the last resort. In the midst of destruction, it invents alternatives, plays through variants, looks for ways out. But in which country, in which conflict do we find ourselves in 2024? Is it about Israel and Palestine? Ukraine and Russia? Or about the AFD and ANTIFA?
