ARTIST TALK

"Roots and Routes" is the title of the artist talk for the motto day "TOGETHER NOW" of SHALOM-MUSIK.KOELN on Friday, August 16, 2024 at 5:00 pm in the Comedia Cologne.

Central Jewish artists of the festival will report and discuss what Jewish music could be and what a festival with Jewish music should be able to do for them. The very different life paths of the participants will also be discussed, their own roots and paths in family histories with expulsion, flight and rescue, and the very topical question of how we can deal with the growing anti-Semitism.

The moderators Ulrike Neukamm & Thomas Höft, the artistic directors of SHALOM-MUSIK.KOELN, will be joined by the singer and actress Sharon Brauner and the cantor Jalda Rebling from Berlin, Rabbi Jonathan Kligler from Woodstock, USA, and the Argentinian-Spanish actor and director Adrian Schvarzstein.

The discussion will also be held in English.
