In the organizer's words:

Playback theater is a form of improvised theater, where the audience tells their stories and the actors and musicians transform them into a work of art on stage.

We decided to use art in this performance to talk about the differences in our lives and to connect through it. What is our life now? How did we get here? What is my story? What has changed in my daily life? What are the struggles and what keeps me going?

The performance is linked to a research project that accompanies refugees from and in Ukraine from their place of origin to their place of arrival. The aim is to investigate and visualize the experiences of displacement and arrival as well as questions of identity and the sense of belonging. How can stories be brought to life by means of research and by means of art?

We invite members from the Ukrainian community and anyone who has recently left their place of origin or feels inspired by the theme. It is not necessary to prepare the stories in advance; they will be born during the performance.

This performance is part of a project that explores different ways of narrating the experiences of forced migrants from Ukraine, supported and sponsored by ZOiS.
