In the organizer's words:

The photographs taken by the OSTKREUZ photographers bear witness to a time that was characterized by feelings of euphoria and uncertainty. Only one thing was certain back then: that everything would change.

In Berlin, the changes can be traced particularly well in the transformed urban space. Numerous photographs in the exhibition show places that still exist today, but are barely recognizable compared to the historical photos.
