For the ninth time, Stadtlichter Lichtenberg is lending glitz and glamor to international city partnerships! This year's film program focuses on the topics of justice, solidarity and empowerment.
Program Friday 20.09.2024:
On Friday (18:30) we will be showing the award-winning film "Green Border" by Agnieszka Holland. The drama focuses on the refugee crisis on the border between Belarus and Poland, Lichtenberg's twin town Hajnówka is located in the border region, which is the subject of the film. Afterwards, there will be a panel discussion with Nele Allenberg - Head of the Human Rights Policy Department Germany/Europe at the German Institute for Human Rights, Marysia Zlonkewicz - activist of Grupa Granica and Krzysztof Sienkiewicz - film curator from Podlaskie and co-founder of the initiative FILMOWE PODLASIE ATAKUJE!
Our film program will be complemented by a guided tour of the Stasi premises at 5 pm - "Insight into the Secret. Guided tour of the Stasi archive at the historical site", registration at: einblick-ins-geheime@bundesarchiv.de
Program Saturday 21.09.2024:
For children from the age of seven there is our children's film program on Saturday (17:00) with fantastic short films and animations from Lithuania, Austria and Berlin. This is followed by the short film reel (19:00) with a selection of multi-faceted short films, documentaries, award-winning animated films & music videos from and about Lichtenberg's international twin cities.
Finally, Ngoc Anh Nguyen and her music project Another Nguyen will enchant us with a wonderful acoustic concert (21:00).
