The Cologne street artist seiLeise invites you to the exhibition STREETfiction in Mülheim for the first public vernissage in the seiLeise Gallery to present the eponymous large format series STREETfiction and the new small format series "Saure Gurken".

The exhibition:
STREETfiction brings together the aesthetics of urban space with the canvas, creating previously unseen points of contact between two disparate worlds. By recreating urban backgrounds, seiLeise's stencil motifs are caressed by an urban imagination. STREETfiction thus creates a utopia of urban space.

Sour Cucumbers includes a variety of small formats of well-known seiLeise motifs such as moon girls, flower girls, brothers, etc. on various backgrounds and forms of realization from a size of 20 x 30cm.

The gallery:
The seiLeise Gallery, run by the artist, opened in the heart of Cologne Mülheim during the 2021 pandemic and has been showing the latest works by street artist seiLeise ever since. Over the past few years, the gallery has grown into a cultural institution in Cologne Mülheim
and enjoys great popularity.
Now the seiLeise Gallery invites you to its first public vernissage.

The artist:
Public space is more than a mere canvas for his works, it is the pivotal point of his work and the reference point of what defines and legitimizes him as a street art artist.

"Ideologically, I am driven by the will to help shape public space, to not have to accept the established grey of the city, to make culture accessible and not to leave the color design of urban space to advertising alone," says seiLeise. "When I manage to get people to enjoy my art on their way through the city and their smiles reach me, I feel confirmed in what I'm doing."

Thematically, seiLeise's works often deal with current affairs, commenting on social grievances or current political debates - often conveyed through the eyes of children. seiLeise wants his art to provide impetus, but still leaves the viewer a certain amount of room for interpretation in order to formulate their own thoughts and interpretations. For him personally, it is important to constantly reinvent himself as an artist, to experiment and to continue to develop. This is an essential feature of his artistic self-image.
