Were all Jews moneylenders? Was the Jewish quarter a ghetto? From the Middle Ages to the present day, there have been many clichés about Jews in Cologne and elsewhere. Archaeologists Franziska Bartz, Michael Wiehen and Dr. Tanja Potthoff take a look at these and mirror them with research findings on the medieval Jewish quarter in Cologne. You can take a close-up look at some surprising original finds from the excavations.
