In the organizer's words:

THRAX PUNKS for the FIRST time in Heidelberg for a unique experience.

THRAX PUNKS is a music group from the region of Thrace in Greece. Based on traditional music, Thrax Punks experiment and integrate various musical elements of modern aesthetics and styles into their sound.

Traditional songs have so much authenticity in their melodies and lyrics that they effortlessly remain indelible over time. Each generation adapts its own take on them and passes them on to the next. So do the Thrax Punks with their main instruments gaida (bagpipes), davul (drums) and an electric guitar. Through their sounds you can travel back in time, stories and feelings that are so timeless that past, present and future seem to be one.

To date, they have performed at most major music festivals in Greece, as well as at concerts and festivals in the UK, Germany, Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary, the Czech Republic and Cyprus. In 2016 they released their first EP, and in 2019 they presented their first self-titled LP as part of a nationwide tour with many sold-out concerts.

In recent years, they have collaborated with renowned artists and recorded music for film and theater plays. In 2021, they performed their own original music for Euripides' tragedy "Bacchae" live at the ancient theater of Epidaurus, as part of the Athens Epidaurus Festival, with further performances at the Odeon of Herodes Atticus and in Cyprus.

The original music composed for the play was released in spring 2024.

Their latest album THRAX PUNKS II was released in June 2024. It contains original compositions, covers of traditional songs and a song composed for the play "Spyridoules".
