Just a few days after the death of his wife, the doorbell of the father of the family rings. He opens it and looks into the face of a huge crow. "I won't leave until you no longer need me," announces the feathered animal and moves in with the young widower and his two children. Max Porter's novel serves as the template for this production about grief and the sometimes harrowing, grotesque, but also liberating way of dealing with it. A topic that concerns everyone and that nobody likes.

Actor Maximilian Grill is making a kind of theater comeback with this play. Together with dramaturge Sabrina Zwach, he and Matthias Buss are developing a new play version of the unbridled prose text, which has already been performed successfully in many countries. Matthias Buss will play the larger-than-life crow, who turns into a subversive family therapist. Maximilian Grill plays his counterpart, the family man and grieving husband. The lively voices and video inserts of the two children complete the family picture affected by the loss.
