In the organizer's words:

The normalization of racist and anti-democratic politics poses a growing danger. Anti-human resentment is becoming more acceptable; migrant and non-white people in Germany are increasingly being denied a sense of belonging. While political firewalls are being put to the test even more with the state elections in Saxony, Brandenburg and Thuringia, we ask:

What do alliances need to proactively counter the strengthening of far-right movements?

At the JIK Talks 2024, we are looking for new impulses: How can we act together and what can each individual do now to act in solidarity? Because right now, we need a civil society alliance that is committed to equal post-migrant coexistence.

In 5 short presentations and a panel discussion with Q& A, we will gather food for thought from different perspectives from

• Kassem Taher Saleh (Member of the Bundestag, Dresden)
• Evein Obulor (European Coalition of Cities against Racism)
• Arne Semsrott (author of the SPIEGEL bestseller Machtübernahme: Was passiert, wenn Rechtsextremisten regieren. A guide to resistance and head of the platform FragDenStaat)
• Dr. Asmaa Soliman (Program Director of the Young Islam Conference) and
• JIK Fellow Nurgül Kahriman.

Together we will discuss what we can learn from different contexts - from Dresden to Berlin and beyond Germany - and how we can move from reactive to proactive action.
