UnNatural Encounters

In the organizer's words:

silent green presents in cooperation with the European Media Art Platform (EMAP) and transmediale

What can artistic perspectives make visible that pure data and facts cannot convey? Can art and technology work together to develop new forms of communication, empathy, connection and responsibility for our environment?

In January 2025, silent green will address these questions with the extensive group exhibitionUnNatural Encounters. Artistic works by Tatsuru Arai & Boris Vaitovič, Carl Emil Carlsen, Bethan Hughes, Juliane Jaschnow & Stefanie Schroeder, masharu, Ali Akbar Mehta, Davor Sanvincenti, Studio Above&Below, Transformative Narratives, Endi Tupja & Klodiana Millona and Marc Vilanova will be shown. Their approaches are diverse, with each work opening up new perspectives on the dynamics of our ecosystems and encouraging reflection on the far-reaching consequences of human activity on the environment.

An accompanying program of workshops, talks and performances invites visitors to explore the themes of the exhibited works in greater depth.

European Media Art Platform

Europe should focus on the creative, critical and unifying potential of the arts in order to take a different technological path from China or Silicon Valley and at the same time counter the growing anti-democratic movements. The European Media Art Platform (EMAP) is pursuing precisely this mission. It is a consortium of 16 leading European media art organizations specializing in digital and media art, bio and robotic art.
