Which fantasies support our ideas of reality and the natural order? What happens when these fantasies lose their foundation in living traditions? What forces drive us to change or hold us back, and what might these changes bring about? As the Valeska Gert Visiting Professor, Saar Magal worked with the students to develop a performance-as-research presentation inspired by the Book of Genesis and based on a variety of literary works. By deconstructing myths and narratives from ancient and contemporary texts within the three Abrahamic traditions, Magal and the students explore and embody how these stories both shape and reflect societal change.
