Vom Wesen der Erde — Eine Ausstellung mit Werken von Julie de Kezel und e.lin (Erwin Wiegerling)

In the organizer's words:

Discover a fascinating combination of art and nature at the Bergson Pop-Up on Marienplatz:

Julie de Kezel (born 1995 in Ghent) and e.lin alias Erwin Wiegerling (born 1943 in Augsburg) create works of art in which nature is represented in completely different ways: mushrooms, moss and stones lie in the studio of Julie de Kezel (awarded the Karl & Faber Art Prize in 2022), while litter from the Murnau moss, earth and ash are the working materials for e.lin, who has been working as an artist and restorer for more than 60 years.

In the exhibition "Vom Wesen der Erde", visitors can discover works by both artists that approach nature using AR visualizations, or view ash pictures and litter bales that symbolize the growth and decay of nature. An artistic dialog between different generations and visual forms of expression. In the process, drastic changes in our perception of nature become impressively clear.

The exhibition can be seen from January 11 to February 24, 2024 at the Bergson Pop-Up on Marienplatz. "Vom Wesen der Erde" was curated by Alexander Timtschenko, Chairman of the Artists' Association at Haus der Kunst, and Benedikt Müller, Bergson Director of Academy and Visual Arts.

Vernissage on 11.01.2024, 19:00 and artist talk from 19:30. Registration via bergson.com.
