One of the highlights at the end of the year is the traditional Frankfurt Christmas market on the Römerberg, one of the most important and beautiful in Germany. Against the picturesque backdrop of the Römer and the half-timbered houses, market stalls decorated for Christmas offer culinary specialties and seasonal market goods. In addition to mulled wine, bratwurst, chestnuts, gingerbread and roasted almonds, there are also Bethmännchen, a Frankfurt specialty, on offer.
