Werk2Bruckner - Crossover without Crossover

In the organizer's words:

On April 10, two bands and an orchestra will come together to make music together. Ska punk meets symphonic metal meets classical music. Everyone will show what they can do and how these different styles can come together to create an event. Anyone expecting bands with orchestral accompaniment should wait, because although this is part of the evening, everyone is actually showing their own side here. Whether and when there will be overlaps remains to be seen and, above all, heard.

The concert is part of Sinfonia Leipzig's mission to lift classical music out of its "elitist" niche and bring it into the mainstream culture. The orchestra regularly plays with supporting bands from other genres to show that different musical styles can only complement each other positively, even if they do not take the form of crossover. Nevertheless, the audience can of course expect one or two crossover tracks, between punk and Bruckner.

The bands / The orchestra:

Sinfonia Leipzig

Sinfonia Leipzig is THE freelance orchestra from Leipzig. Under the motto "Diverse Sounds", we see music as a means of making the world a little more tolerant, diverse and, above all, colorful. Professional musicians from Leipzig's independent scene have set themselves the goal of taking classical music out of its elitist niche and making it accessible to as broad a group of people as possible. Freely selectable ticket prices, an open bar throughout and cross-genre collaborations with (local) bands are all building blocks for bringing together people who never meet in their daily lives. The division between artists and art lovers is also broken down. After the concert, musicians and visitors get together for drinks and conversation in a relaxed atmosphere. The orchestra itself consists of a very diverse group and by performing together on stage, the audience is shown musically how harmoniously this diversity can sound and live together. The musicians come from over 25 nations, represent all genders and form a heterogeneous group that celebrates its differences rather than ironing them out. Tolerance and diversity take center stage and are carried out into the world through the power of music.

Molllust

molllust - The heart is classical, metal the pulse.

Dark soundscapes, operatic drama, energetic guitars, soulful strings, a powerful soprano and a lot of joy in playing characterize the symphonic metal formation MOLLLUST. Dressed in ball gowns and frock coats, they present their special blend of classical music and metal. More than 150 concerts have taken the band all over Europe and as far as Mexico, including the Wacken Open Air, the Mera Luna Festival, the Wave Gotik Treffen and the FemMe.
The multi-layered soundscapes and theatrical elements, together with the often socially critical lyrics on the pulse of the times, form a rousing total work of art in which the two charismatic front personalities sometimes move in harmony with each other, but also repeatedly fight for the upper hand on stage in a competition spiced with black humor. MOLLLUST now invites you on a musical journey into space with their third album "Mother Universe".

The Griffins

Is that ska punk? It's definitely fast and a lot - and preferably both at the same time. The Griffins are coming and what they're bringing is not for the faint-hearted. Everyone else can enjoy the full program: energetic two-stroke music, distorted guitar droning, a wall of horns and German lyrics dripping with sarcasm. When the band has finished, everyone involved needs the famous fag afterwards.
