In their artistic collaboration, Veronika Veit and Erik Göngrich are developing an exhibition installation that explores the boundaries between artwork and everyday objects. The Ö_Werkstattraum in the MaximiliansForum will also be redesigned with a mobile bar by the Färberei in cooperation with Veronika Veit and Erik Göngrich/Mitkunstzentrale.
In her sculptural works, video pieces and large-format media installations, artist Veronika Veit (Munich) translates everyday concerns into complex artistic works. Feminist criticism and social reflection subtly form their thematic background. She sees her concert performances SULP (with Georg Rudolph and Julia Sakas) as digital/analog sound sculptures in which stories of everyday objects, experiences and supposed consumer happiness are told.
Erik Göngrich (Berlin) works as an artist, architect and curator. Art in public space and urban development are part of his performative practice. His artistic and research work focuses on the use and transformation of urban space, which he actively shapes through sculpture. With the MITKUNSTZENTRALE, which he initiated, he operates
he has been running a workshop and laboratory together with many collaborators since 2019, in which material cycles and art are addressed in times of climate emergency.
In collaboration with the Färberei, the exhibition project is also accompanied by Ö_Werkstätten. Guests can experiment with the question "Utility object or art?" during the events by making their own "hybrid" objects. The resulting ideas sometimes become extensions of the installation.
