The line is the connecting element between the artists Christine Liebich and Astrid Schröder. In non-representational art, freed from the "designation" of an object, the line is completely itself, can represent movement, mark a boundary or define a distance. With several lines, rhythm and the visualization of time and space are added as expression and effect.

Astrid Schröder, born in 1962, studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich as a master student of Prof. Jürgen Reipka, having previously trained at the State Academy of Graphic Arts in Munich and worked as a graphic artist. For more than three decades, Schröder - related to monochrome color painting - has consistently developed her unmistakable painting style of vertical brushstrokes. The countless rows of strokes dissolve into spatial planes, into fantastic scores of visual sounds and into a suggestive interpretation of our concept of time. Astrid Schröder lives and works in Regensburg.
Christine Liebich's preferred material for ten years has been metal, mostly reinforcing steel. Initially a painter, she completed her studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich as a master student of Prof. Axel Kasseböhmer. Restrictions following a hand operation led Liebich to an expanded understanding of painting and to her poetic approach to the brittle material of steel. Liebich takes all work processes, such as flexing and welding, "into her own hands" and thus "draws" expressive and at the same time elegant objects with steel in space. Christine Liebich, born in 1987, lives and works near Ulm.
