In the organizer's words:

DNA. present "Writers Session"

an Open Platform to learn to edit receive, give & to grow. Together.

In this context, "Writes Session" means we are bringing in different writing styles and helping each other improve through drafting, receiving and giving feedback. Showcase the best version of Your writing, as we provide a Safe Space for Writing of all kinds (including prose, poetry, essay's etc. ) and for Writers of all Levels.

Writers of all kinds & all Styles are welcome.

‍

This event is all about bringing storytellers, poets, writers, essayists, screenwriters and creative minds into a shared space where they can draft each-others work and receive positive as well as critical feedback in an encouraging manner.

Every respectful person is welcome to join.

Whether You're there to show off Your skills or simply soak up the creative atmosphere, this is Your opportunity to be part of something special. Take the chance to join the Writers Session and see where Your passion can take You.

DRAFTING GUIDELINES:

• Encouraging feedback before criticism.

"This and this was great, do more of it. I would also work on this etc."

• We could be working with sensitive pieces.
• Include trigger warnings.
• We want people to benefit and grow their pieces from our workshops.
• Creating a safe space to encourage vulnerable.

STRUCTURE:

‍

• People will have a chance to enter their names to book a slot to draft each week.
• We need to know who is presenting 1 or 2 days before they do.

• Session Length: 1hr 30 minutes
  • 6 people drafting 12 people giving feedback
  • 20 minutes for each draft
    • 5 minutes reading + explaining text intention
    • 5 minutes drafting (each individual, ink to the page)
    • 5 - 10 minutes feedback.
    • 12 copies given back to the author w/feedback
  • 20minutes x 6people = 1hour 20 minutes
    • +-10 minutes for longer/shorter pieces text
    • A 5-minute break after 45 minutes.
• People bring their drafts: poetry, prose even spoken word etc.

STEPS TO PERFORM:

1. SIGN UP
   1. To present Your pieces ONLY 6 slots available to present Your pieces.
   2. To attend as a feedback giver and get priority to present Your pieces the following session.
