LIVE
Zaz - the artist who breathed new life into the chanson - is often mentioned in the same breath as Ella Fitzgerald and Edith Piaf. Few manage to stand up to such comparisons, but the French singer proves that she is more than worthy with her unique voice and presence.
Isabelle Geffroy - better known as Zaz - was born in Tours in 1980 and developed a talent for music at an early age. As a child, she learned to play several instruments before studying at the renowned CIAM music school in Bordeaux. There she gained experience in various genres, including singing in a Latin rock band, a Basque dance orchestra and a blues band. However, her musical breakthrough came in Paris, where she rediscovered her love of chanson - the favorite songs of her childhood - in the famous artists' quarter of Montmartre. During this time, Zaz often made street music and met her first producer Kerredine Soltani, with whom she later composed her biggest hit "Je Veux". She then surprisingly won a national talent competition with this song in 2009 and released her debut album "Zaz" shortly afterwards. The album was a sensational success: more than 20 weeks at number one in the French charts, double platinum in Germany, countless television and festival appearances throughout Europe. With her second studio album "Recto Verso" in 2013, Zaz devoted herself more to pop and worked with legends such as Quincy Jones and John Clayton. Just one year later, she released her cover album "Paris", on which she reinterpreted well-known songs about the city of love. After a break of almost four years, she then released "Effet Miroir" in 2018, on which she sang in Spanish for the first time. This was followed two years later by "Isa", which showed her more personal and vulnerable than ever before and returned to her chanson roots. While she is already working on her sixth studio album, Zaz will embark on an intimate European tour in winter 2024 - also to try out some of these new songs live. Audiences have already been enchanted by Zaz's special magic and powerful voice at previous concerts - these concerts in selected venues now promise a very special experience.
