In the festival's words:

Over the course of four days, the Orangerie Theater will be transformed into a space for intersectional culture and dialogue. Called ROAR - Radical break Out of an Artificial Rulebook, the festival reflects different realities of life and circumstances that get little to little recognition across society.

Listening, understanding, reflecting, rethinking, starting from a new point. As a new-initiated festival, artists and visitors deal with different realities in art and beyond. For this purpose, we invite all interested people, far from their own background, to a cross-disciplinary program of dance performances, concerts, readings, an open-call exhibition, thinking labs and workshops.

The festival team - consisting of young cultural actors from the Orangerie Theater and YAYA e.V. - has created a festival that is missing from their own cultural landscape and gives them a piece of hope.

Tickets are available here via Rausgegangen and our ticketing partner Qultor and/or from us by phone. In the meantime, those interested can find more information on our festival page and on the roar.thefestival Instagram profile.

Languages of the program: German, English

Press comment:
"For groups suffering from discrimination, a framework where they can let it all out. Here, only noise protection must be observed - otherwise everything is allowed."

"[...] That's why the ROAR festival wants to break with boundaries. That's already in the name, because ROAR is the abbreviation for "Radical break Out of an Artificial Rulebook". The people who attend the workshops, concerts and discussion forums are therefore more than just spectators. They are supposed to participate, to speak along, to shout along."
