Since 2015, the youth culture café Franzmann of the Catholic Youth Agency Düsseldorf has offered young people from the Düsseldorf area the opportunity to develop their talents in a protected space, to get socially involved or to put their art on stage.

The youth culture café Franzmann is an open youth facility in Düsseldorf's old town with many different cultural offerings and a diverse program and visitor structure that make it different from youth centers in the traditional sense. While on one evening young people from the hardcore/punk rock milieu determine the content-related goings-on in the café, on the other evening it is, for example, the young Ukrainian community that invites people to get to know each other and cook together, or it is young Erasmus students who independently organize and implement a karaoke evening. Everyone is always welcome. The youth culture café is a no-hate area! Diversity is lived and shared at the Franzmann.

The Franzmann offers young adolescents a variety of opportunities to participate in free workshops and events on cultural participation, diverse coexistence, intercultural understanding and empowerment. On the one hand, these offers are intended to be a protective space and, on the other hand, a field of experimentation for those involved.
