FLINTA* KULTURSALON #3

The third FLINTA* KULTUR SALON BERLIN places support systems at the heart of society, in the form of chosen families, communities, and networks, and showcases collective social and artistic power through song, essay, and poetry, much of it developed together with the audience. What forms of feminist interdependence emerge when performers and audiences create together? How can artistic forms such as spoken word and music help destigmatize mental health, address medical neglect, and make healing tangible as a shared community experience?

Sue Koppel is a German Ecuadorian actress and creator working between performance and pedagogy. She began collaborating with schools and communities in Ecuador and later specialized in Corporeal Mime. Since moving to Germany in 2017, she graduated as a Theater Educator and has taught Spanish through theater at the Volkshochschule, aesthetic education in kindergartens, and Physical Theater with improvisation groups in Cologne. She has presented and taught in France, the Czech Republic, and Germany. In Berlin, the Free Jazz scene sparked her research on improvisation in Corporeal Mime and dramaturgy. She currently teaches at Exploratorium Berlin.

Edith Steyer is a free improvising, experimental and composing clarinet and saxophone player with my roots in jazz and classical music. As a former student for social anthropology she is also interested in ethnic music. She is dedicated to the exploration of her instruments and prepares them with music tools and elements from everyday life. She also experiments and combines the prepared instruments with electronic devices and feedback. Aside from working on a solo concept, her foremost interest is to create intelligently woven nets of interaction and noisy sound scapes with other artists.

Jasmin Namondo works at the intersection of language, art, and collective practice. She is a poet, artist, curator, and community organizer.

Roxana Safarabadi writes prose and poetry. She studied acting in Hamburg and has since worked as a freelancer for theatre, film and television – including at the Nationaltheater Weimar, Thalia Theater Hamburg, Theater Bonn and Kampnagel. In addition to her acting activities, she is a co-founder of REMISE –interdisciplinary lab for art and research in Hamburg and was part of the editorial team of DRAMA – Magazine for Scenic Literature. She lives in Berlin.
