Too long overlooked, it's time to take a closer look at Picasso's early years. What are the reasons for Picasso's rise to artistic greatness? Three cities played a key role: Málaga, Barcelona and Paris. The young Picasso visits each of these cities and explores their influence on Picasso, focusing on artworks from these early years. The film takes a close look at two important early periods - the so-called Blue Period and the Pink Period - and takes us all the way to 1907 and the creation of one of the most important paintings in art history: Les Demoiselles d'Avignon.
