In den Zelten

In the organizer's words:

Painting workshop

The workshop on 7.12.2024 focuses on writing poems and other texts and is aimed primarily at adults.

The artists Antje Majewski and Olivier Guesselé-Garai invite you to paint a large tent, which will be presented as part of the exhibition Forgive Us Our Trespasses / Vergib uns unsere Schuld.

The theme and inspiration for the paintings are the creatures that can be found on the grounds of the Großer Tiergarten today or that existed here in the past: animals, plants, fungi, lichens, micro-organisms and humans. Some live there now, others lived there a long time ago, such as the forest rhinoceros.

While Antje Majewski offers painting workshops for all ages to create creatures that can be found in the Great Zoo area, Olivier Guesselé-Garai offers poetry meetings on September 29, October 20 and December 7 and 8, where poems are recited, recorded and written in the tent. The aim is to explore what a lyrical transgression can be within the framework of freedom of expression.

The poems and paintings will be overwritten and painted over in further workshops, even completely covered over with new elements, creating a multi-layered ensemble of possible forms of life and lived experiences.

Painting Workshop

The workshop on 7.12.2024 focuses on writing poems and other texts, as the tent is already fully painted and is aimed primarily at adults.

The artists Antje Majewski and Olivier Guesselé-Garai invite visitors to paint onto a large tent, which will be presented as part of the exhibition Forgive Us Our Trespasses / Vergib uns unsere Schuld.

The theme and inspiration for the paintings are the living beings that can be found in the area of Großer Tiergarten or that existed here in the past: animals, plants, fungi, lichens, micro-organisms and humans. Some live there now, others lived there a long time ago, such as the forest rhinoceros.

In painting workshops for all age groups, Antje Majewski conjures the creatures that can be found in Großer Tiergarten, while Olivier Guesselé-Garai offers poetry circles on September 29, October 20, and December 7 & 8, during which poems are recited, recorded and written in a tent. In the context of freedom of expression, these activities explore what can constitute a lyrical border crossing.

The poems and paintings are to be overwritten and painted over in further workshops-even completely covered with new elements-so that a multi-layered ensemble of possible life forms and lived experiences emerges.
