Many musicians and music lovers today are passionate about collecting sheet music - just as Johann Sebastian Bach did 300 years ago. But what did his music collection look like, filled as it was with lovingly collected notebooks and meticulously transcribed copies? Thanks to research, we gain a fascinating insight into Bach's personal library - shedding light on his learning processes and his curiosity about the craft of music and, above all, showing the admiration he felt for both the masters and his younger contemporaries.
