In songs such as "Painter Man" (The Creation 1967) or "David Hockney's Diaries" (TV Personalities 1982), a certain affinity between mod culture and the visual arts is palpable. In the song "Art School" (The Jam 1977), the young Paul Weller even declares that being a modernist is an art form in itself. In a group exhibition with works by:
