Art of Buna is a place of symbiosis. The gallery—which also serves as a small shop with a café—resolutely distances itself from the art world. Here, paintings, photographs, prints, and much more are deeply grounded—far removed from the mechanisms of any market. We view art as what it should be: a means of communication—communication between the artist and the viewer. For us, however, art becomes particularly compelling when it contributes to a dialogue between different cultures, opinions, and perspectives. Through exhibitions, lectures, and workshops, we aim to contribute to a social dialogue and encourage people from diverse backgrounds or with varied experiences to engage with one another. We invite you to discover something new, to encounter people and art—and to enjoy a delicious cup of Ethiopian coffee while you’re at it.
