REVISIONS made by the Warlpiri of Central Australia and Patrick Waterhouse

In the organizer's words:

What can Australian First Nations do to counter the borders, maps and photographs arbitrarily drawn by European colonizers? How can they tell their own stories, regain the power of interpretation and contribute their own perspectives? Over the past eight years, groups of artists from the Warlukurlangu Artists Centre in Central Australia have worked with British artist Patrick Waterhouse to rework maps, flags, photographs, comic illustrations and other archive material. This has resulted in artistic positions that offer new access to previously hidden perspectives. The largest exhibition of these works to date, some of which are also part of the Rautenstrauch-Joest-Museum collection, will run from December 8, 2023.
